We've introduced two clearly-labelled affiliate links (Wise and Amazon) and updated our disclosure and privacy policies accordingly
A different kind of update: we've added our first monetisation to the site, and updated our policies to disclose it properly rather than quietly changing what we'd previously promised.
What's new
- A small "Travel smarter" card now appears on most content pages, linking to Wise (the travel money card we personally use, via a referral link) and Amazon's best-selling travel accessories (via our Amazon Associates link). Both are clearly labelled "Affiliate link" at the point you see them.
- Our advertising & disclosure page has been rewritten to reflect this honestly — we'd previously said we carried no affiliate links, and that's no longer true, so we said so plainly rather than quietly editing the old claim away.
- A new privacy policy covers analytics and how affiliate-link tracking works.
What hasn't changed
No business can pay to be included in our Stay directory, Food listings, or any other editorial content — that policy is unrelated to and unaffected by these two affiliate links, which point to third-party services, not site listings.
