100+ events, 1.85 million visitors: Hong Kong's H2 2026 events calendar
As part of the wider strategy covered in our Tourism Revival Blueprint article, the Hong Kong Tourism Board is running an event-led push through the second half of 2026, hosting more than 100 international festivals, sporting fixtures, cultural programmes and business gatherings. The stated goals are to lift visitor arrivals, extend the average length of hotel stays, and stimulate local retail and dining spending beyond the traditional peak season.
Headline events on the H2 2026 calendar
- Hong Kong Cyclothon — a mass-participation cycling event that closes sections of the city's roads and bridges to traffic, drawing both regional and long-haul entrants.
- Hong Kong Wine & Dine Festival — a relaunched, expanded edition of the long-running harbourfront food and wine event.
- Continued programming around established fixtures such as the Hong Kong Sevens and horse racing (see our spectator sports guide), heritage walking tours, and dining-voucher schemes aimed at encouraging overnight stays over day trips.
The targets behind the push
HKTB is targeting roughly 1.85 million visitors and an estimated HK$5.9 billion (about US$752 million) in visitor spending from the H2 2026 events calendar. The strategy also aims to diversify Hong Kong's visitor base beyond its traditional mainland Chinese market, with targeted campaigns in Southeast Asia, India, the Middle East and Europe.
