Shopping & markets
Hong Kong's shopping spans two very different worlds — glossy mall retail, and dense street markets specialising in a single category of goods each.
Specialist streets
- Apliu Street, Sham Shui Po — secondhand electronics and components.
- Fa Yuen Street, Mong Kok — sportswear and casual clothing at a discount.
- Cloth Alley, Central — fabric and tailoring supplies.
- Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan — antiques and curios, genuine and otherwise.
Night markets
Temple Street is the best known, strongest after dark, mixing clothing and souvenir stalls with fortune tellers and open-air food stalls.
Malls
International and luxury retail concentrates in Central, Causeway Bay and Tsim Sha Tsui's harbourfront malls — useful on a rainy day, air-conditioned, and largely interchangeable with malls anywhere else in the world.
