Pok Fu Lam, up close

Pok Fu Lam sits on the Island's western side between Kennedy Town and the southern coast, home to one of Hong Kong's oldest villages, a Victorian-era reservoir, and the main campus of the University of Hong Kong.

Pok Fu Lam Village

One of the oldest surviving villages on Hong Kong Island, predating much of the surrounding urban development, with a working temple and a small community that has resisted redevelopment pressure for generations.

Pok Fu Lam Reservoir

Hong Kong's oldest reservoir, completed in 1863, set in a genuinely peaceful patch of woodland popular for an easy walk not far from the density of Kennedy Town and Sai Ying Pun.

The University of Hong Kong

HKU's main campus climbs the hillside above the district, with several historic buildings open to the public and a small museum — a quieter, more academic side of the Island distinct from its commercial districts.

Getting there

Reachable by MTR to HKU station or bus from Kennedy Town, making it an easy extension of a day exploring the Island's western districts.
